ADS-B on the Horizon

The constant evolution of flight technology means that flight now is safer than ever, and the FAA is taking advantage of those technological advances to ensure everyone's making good use of those new safety measures. ADS-B is one of the newer pieces of safety technology available to us. ADS-B, or Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast, provides a safer and more efficient alternative to radar in preventing collisions and efficiently controlling and monitoring air traffic.

By 2020, the FAA has mandated that all aircraft operating in US airspace currently requiring a transponder to be equipped with at least ADS-B Out. Some countries already impose ADS-B requirements, including the following:

Hong Kong

Here at CTS, we want to do our part to ensure this transition happens smoothly, and for us, that means providing the necessary training. In the next few months, we will be introducing a new ADS-B course including an interactive tutorial, lessons, and an exam covering system description, operations, procedures, CAVS, in-trail procedures, and human factor considerations. Our training is perfect for any pilot who will be using ADS-B, and meets the training requirements outlined in AC 90-114 and the guidance in 8900.1.

All courses are designed for online delivery and can be taken anywhere, anytime, as long as Internet access is available. All subjects can be purchased as standalone courses, or as part of a training package.

If you're interested in adding ADS-B to your training program or perhaps adding ADS-B to a complete training package, give us a call at 316-265-1585 for more information. You can also take a look at our extensive library of other training subjects by clicking here, to find the training package that best suits your needs. We look forward to hearing from you.
