Aviation Training Courses Are for More Than Just Pilots

Aviation Safety Action Program

Aviation training may be within reach thanks to scholarships

I always thought that aviation training courses were all about pilot training and flying planes, but it turns out that there’s much more to it than that. I know it takes a village to raise a child (I have 4), but I guess it also takes a village to fly a plane and all the supporting players in aviation also need training. Fortunately, scholarships help ease the financial burden, and the International Aircraft Dealers Association (IADA) is now accepting applications.

The IADA scholarships are for undergraduate and graduate students planning business aviation careers. There are 21 participating universities and colleges, and the awards are between $1000 and $5000 each, all funded by the IADA Foundation.

So, what are some of the careers in business aviation, you ask? Besides the apparent corporate pilot or flight department manager, there are many other disciplines:

  • Corporate aircraft sales
  • Aviation marketing
  • Aviation finance
  • Aviation law
  • Aviation insurance

All these disciplines are popular now due to business aviation growing exponentially and continued growth expected in the future.

To apply for one of these scholarships, you will need a keycode that is available through the financial aid office of participating schools. In addition, students must attend full-time and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. The deadline for applying is September 1, 2022.

These aviation training courses provide the specialty training needed to excel in the fast-paced, high-money business aviation environment. The forecast for business aviation looks bright. Now is the time to start your career with the help of the IADA.
